Unfortunately, many high school students compare wearing school uniforms to an anchovy and liver sandwich. Personally, I much prefer peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I don’t why students are so resistant to school uniforms. Students should be required to wear school uniforms because they reduce socioeconomic disparities, help students focus on work rather than the clothes they are wearing, and students would spend less time getting ready in the morning.
Socioeconomic disparities are the unequal state of the social and economic factors of life. In a statistic released by the Justice Department shows that one in every four kids will be bullied at some point in their educational experiences. Due to recent developments in technology, a study was taken showing that 43% of teen’s ages 13-17 have experienced some sort of cyber bullying. Waking up in the morning for school is hard enough but picking out the clothes you have to wear takes time out of the morning, causing students to be tarty or absent. With school uniform the student does not have to worry about the stress of what clothes to wear that day. A study conductive by the University of Huston showed that by implementing school uniforms decreased the amount of absences by 7%.
