Should Students Be Allowed To Play Football?

Millions of roaring and devoting fans crowd in front of their TVs daily to watch football, America’s most beloved sport. Football, created in the late 1800s, is not only America’s favorite pastime, but is also a tradition, that has united families worldwide. Parents enlist their children in teams to play the beneficial recreation while other guardians claim the sport is deteriorating children’s health. Students should be allowed to play football, since athletes who play other sports are exposed to similar dangers. For instance, studies show that non athletic pupils and high school football players have the same risk of acquiring a brain injury. In addition to minimum brain injuries, statistics show that football death rates are low. Youth and NFL teams are practicing safer methods of the recreation. Pupils who participate in common sports such as basketball, baseball, and soccer will face unavoidable hazards. Brain injuries are inevitable obstacles that can occur to anyone, therefore high school football players and non athletic pupils have equal risks of obtaining a brain injury.
