Should Students Be Able To Drop Out Before The Age Of 16?

For years experts have been asking the question should students be able to drop out before the age of 16. Students should not be able to drop out before the age of 16. Four sources that help support this claim is a letter, a data analysis, Paul Morgan Talks With Missy Remiss on WSCH, and President Pushes States to Raise Dropout Age. Students should not drop out before the age of 16.

The graduation rate increases when students do not drop out. When students do not drop out it has a positive effect on them. When students drop out their driverś license is suspended. The quote explains that when students do not drop out a positive effect occurs. When students stay in school the graduation rates increase. New Hampshire recently raised the dropout age to 18 and saw increases in graduation rates. Positive effects occur when students do not drop out.

Another reason for not dropping out is that there are more opportunities. A recent study shows that 80% of inmates have a low reading level. Students that do not drop out will have a better education and better lifestyle.

According to a data analysis students that have a high school dropout make $19,540 a year compared to a Four-year college degree with $46,930 a year.

The data shows that the more education you have the more money you make. The data also shows there are more opportunities in life when you have more education. With better education you will be able to buy essentials in life like a house and a car. With more education the better lifestyle you will have.

Some may say that you will be able to support your family better when you are able to drop out. Students are able to get part time jobs to help support their families without the need to dropout.
