Sex is a big topic to discuss especially when talking about it with teens. Most parents would hope their kids will wait till marriage or when they are an adult who understand and is ready for it. When teens come of age it's time for them to hear the ‘birds and the bees’ talk. It may be embarrassing for them to talk about sex with their parents and also getting insight on how their parents were when they were young and fun. Students need sex ed to learn about sexual transmitted diseases, the myths that surround sex, precautions when considering of having sex, and about same sex relationships. In most school sex ed is taught in different ways, but most don't get to deep into the topic or just exclude most parts of the lesson.Although some believe …show more content…
Some believe the only thing teens need to know about in sex ed is how to have protected sex, waiting, different types of sexuality, and the diseases that can be transmitted through unprotected sex. Sex ed should teach students about relationships and same sex relationships to give students perspectives on whether healthy relationships. Students are taught the aspects of a healthy relationship and voice their concerns about their partner.Same sex relationships are not talked about in sex ed and should be considered being apart of the talk. parents give their kids ‘the birds and the bees’ talk so they can be well informed about pregnancy and STD’s. There are multiple types of birth control. Teens should be informed of each type of birth control so they can be prepared when concidering inercourse and know which ones are more effective defended them from pregnancy and STD’s. Birth control has many levels of effectiveness some work better than others and have different percentages of pregnancy and STD prevention. “IMPLANT A little matchstick-sized rod that goes in a girl's upper arm; it's good for up to three years.” (birth control explorer). The Implant is a type of birth control for females, it’s only good for 3 years and is 99% effective. “A pill a girl takes at about the same time every day.” (birth control explorer). The pill is used by girls to prevent pregnancy, and have to take it everyday at a specific time girls also use it for their periods. “ABSTINENCE Choosing not to have sex (until you're married, until you're ready...whatever) and it's the only 100% effective method of birth control.” (birth control explorer). Abstinence is the most effective against pregnancy and STD’s. sex ed should teach students about birth control and explain how they are used, what are the pros and cons for each type of birth
