Should Schools Use Standardized Testing In Schools?

Some schools that use Standardized tests have been closed or fired their teachers. They are doing that because they are having either too many failing students or the teachers aren't teaching their students. Schools do not need to close down, but the teachers do need to get fired and replaced with a teacher that does their job. Low scores on the tests can also lead to a student not progressing to the next grade level if they fail. If the student fails, the teacher fails at her job. The teacher is there to help the student so after the test is over the student should ask for help if he/she needs it. The “standardized tests are a fair and objective measure of student ability(procon)." If schools use standardized tests, they have a chance of accomplishing their goal. Schools should use standardized tests because it shows the teacher how well the student is performing and whether or not the student needs help also helps schools know what they need to improve on.

The “Standardized testing causes severe stress in younger students(procon).” It also causes stress in older students but rarely. The tests are sometimes unfair and cause students to fail which causes a student to either be held back or go to summer school to move on to the next grade level. These tests get teachers fired and schools to shut down when the teachers don't do their job and most of the students fail their classes. This is why schools need to get better teachers that don’t neglect their students success. As long as a teacher helps their students and their students take in the knowledge and studies, the student will do good and pass without anyone being held back, fired, or a school getting
