A big debate is going on about whether schools should start making students wear uniforms to school. About 20 to 25 percent of schools in the U.S. are making students wear uniforms to school. It all started with president Bill Clinton, he encouraged schools to make their students wear uniforms to school. People are debating on either side but I have my own opinions. I think schools should start making their students wear uniforms to school. My first reason that school uniforms may deter crime and increase student safety. My evidence are that assault with deadly weapon decreased 50 percent, Fighting incidents went down 51 percent, and drugs and robberies dropped 69 percent (BBC NEWS).
