Kids have lots of after school programs like instruments and sports, some kids just don't do it and then parents wonder why their kids have poor grades, and I determined kids need to have more time to be kids and not be stuck inside everyday doing homework. It's time for schools to think about not giving homework.

If a kid is inside all day doing homework, they never get to go outside and have fun with friends or make friends with other people. When I get home from school all I do is stay inside and do homework all day. People might say that homework helps the mind, but it also brings a great deal of stress on a child. But when a child goes and plays all the stress just goes away and they have lots of fun instead of being stressed out.

If schools continue to give out homework, students will have poor grades and be stressed out. I believe schools should get rid of homework because kids have after school activities, kids aren't doing the work, and kids aren't having enough time to be kids. I believe schools should get rid of homework for good. With loads homework kids could continue to have lots of stress and then that can lead to many physical health

Homework keeps students from doing after school activities, because we don't have time for both. In her article Sara Bennett states “Study after study shows that homework is not much more beneficial in middle school either. Even in high school, where there can be benefits, they start to decline when kids overload on homework” (3). This quote shows that having too much homework shows less benefits for the teens which is giving us less time to do other things. Teens need more time after school to be able to participate with other activities and we can't do that if we have a ton of homework to do.…

In her article “Why I Think All Schools Should Abolish Homework”, Vicky Abeles argues that schools should abolish, if not limit, the amount of homework given to students because there aren’t many proven benefits, and instead will harm students in some aspects. She backs her argument with the fact that studies have shown there “is no academic benefit to high school homework” after a certain length of time (par. 6). Students are also not getting a chance to rest and be healthy, instead they are burdened “with an imbalance of sedentary, academic tasks” (par. 9). Abeles also mentions that schools such as Henry West Laboratory School have “eliminated mandatory, graded homework for optional assignments” (par. 11) and that other schools should follow,…
