Should Schools Continue to Enforce a Dress Code?

Many people believe that the clothes people wear are a way for them to express themselves, and that schools should not restrict the creativity these clothes display. Although this may be true, school dress codes only restrict inappropriate clothes and articles of clothing that are distracting. Dress codes allows students to “express themselves” while also being appropriately covered and distraction free. It is true that some school dress codes can be strict, or have rules that don’t seem reasonable, such as not being able to wear hats. However, they prevent students from wearing clothing that are too exposing or disruptive . And, this is not just an issue for girls, but for boys as well.
