Potter stated that textbooks use nonfiction for all educational purposes (12). Textbooks use nonfiction to tell the reader what he/she needs to know for learning their subject (Potter 11). In doing this the textbooks use real things that are needed for staying in school (Potter 11). Potter also stated that textbooks provide engaging interactive elements that kids like and need (12). Potter stated that textbooks tell intriguing subjects that most kids should want to learn (13). Potter also stated that any good textbook provides educational properties that kids like and want to learn (12). The authors try to add interesting text in each textbook that they write knowing that student’s will read it at some point (Potter 12). When authors write they try to teach their facts in a fun way so more students will understand. Potter stated that the authors try to keep text away from electronics because they can distract the students (13). Overall, in all textbooks they need to have considered looking at Addressing Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and Engaging
