After such tragedies like; Sandy Hook And most recently the one in Parkland Florida, you can't help but wonder should teacher and staff at schools be allowed to carry firearms or other weapons. This has been a big debate over the years but a couple of months ago our own president Donald Trump said “ I want my schools protected just like i want my banks protected.” says the new york times so clearly he is on the firearms side of things. But many people do not think this is a great idea because even if going through extensive background checks they still feel that guns could still fall into the wrong hands. Even if some teachers carried a firearm it isn't as easy as ‘ Good guy with a gun stops bad guy with a gun.’ Says Wayne LaPierre CEO of National Rifle Association. I feel that schools should explore their options before giving teachers guns or not.

Another great option could be k9 dogs because they can be trained to smell gunpowder like the ones found in bullets says forensic outreach. These options could potentially save many lives before a shooter situation arises. We also need to get the students involved, we need them to speak up if they see or hear any type of threat from a fellow student so we can stop their plan before it
