We believe that sports should be cut from the school budget. They are bad for the students by the pressure they can bring, the possibility of a concussion, which causes kids -to miss school, and it can rob a kid of his childhood memories.

The students are able to get a scholarship by playing sports. Only two percent of kid’s become professional athletes (Business Insider). That means out of all the football players at MTMS only eight percent may be offered a scholarship. It is even less than that because there are more than forty people who play school. Which would cause the kids to be depressed if they don't get a scholarship. Causing the students to be stressed out and that would affect their grades in school.

Some of kids fall under the rest of the students. The reason this could be is because of the time sports take up and the amount of stress it can cause. Sport practice takes place outside of school and takes out time to do schoolwork. Though some kids focus more and get good grades to play sports. But, how can they get good grades by studying and doing homework when they have little time to due to sports?
Another argument people might make in order to save school sports is that they teach you life skills, but many athletes can become arrogant and self-absorbed. By being pushed too hard by a parent, the athlete can try to be the “star of the show”, not worrying about the team, but only about themselves. According to Chudacoff, “These athletes are already treated like campus royalty, enjoying far more perks, and richer ones, than their classmates could dream of.” We already know of all the awesome facilities, staff, and several other perks that these athletes receive, very similar to ones of professional sports teams. If universities feel the need to continue to grow their facilities and image because other campuses are doing the same, the average student may begin to feel unfairly treated. It will feel as though the sport is more important than education. Average students will begin to ask why can’t the university put more money into funding new educational facilities to better expand their expensive education.…

The debate on whether college athletes should be rewarded for their dedication to sports through payment has many different arguments to it. Although some would argue that athletes do not deserve to be paid, it would be fair for them to receive compensation for their hard work. College athletes should be paid because they deserve it based on the amount of the work they put into their lifestyle, the college sports industry would be more than able to afford it, and it is immoral and possibly illegal to prevent the athletes from being paid. Critics to this idea argue that there are already enough advantages given for being a student-athlete such as: generous scholarships, exposure to future contract opportunities, and access to beneficial networks (Text 3, lines 23,26-28). This is not entirely accurate, however, because many athletes struggle with maintaining a stable financial situation.…

I agree with taking out the sports for the high school. The kids should focus more on school work than on sports and play sports on their own time like on weekends and breaks. School is made for learning and education but sports is not one of them. Kids who play sports like baseball, basketball, and football will fail more often than kids who do not play sports. Kids will not have lower grades as much and will succeed in life at jobs and be richer if they did not focus in other things like sports.…

Imagine a high school athlete, head spinning from tests and quizzes and homework grades, mind swimming with due dates and deadlines, trying not only to balance the hardships high school offers but also juggling his passion of football. Imagine after all his hard work, one of his grades slipped and now he is forced to cut his sport. Do students really deserve this kind of pressure? That is why the no pass, no play rule is a ridiculous rule to follow, since not only does this add extra stress to an average person's head, this rule also completely ignores the fact that students who have learning disabilities and use sports as an escape from their struggles are stripped away of their passion. Sports also has many benefits that not even school can…
