This issue has mostly been about whether same-sex couples who love one another should have the right to marry as heterosexual couples. Those who are for same-sex marriages argue that same-sex couples should have a right to marry as heterosexual couples. They argue gays as individuals will be better off because marriage has not improved and women may be worse off. For this reason they say same-sex marriage will benefit gay individuals. They also argue gay couples will be better off because marriage entails that heterosexual couples will be able to support themselves better, financially, emotionally, and psychologically. Just as heterosexual couples will be able to support themselves better so will those in same-sex marriages, and thus gay couples will be better off. Another argument those for same-sex marriage argue is children of gay couples will be better off because gay couples can better take care of children than parents who are not married, and gay couples will not have to worry about decisions alone like single parents (Arguments for Gay Marriage). An example, look at what happened to the city of Sodom and Gomorrah. Though the people in the city of Sodom and Gomorrah were committing other sins, the primary sin committed was homosexuality, and this is the reason why God destroyed the city of Sodom and Gomorrah. Let’s see what scripture says “Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven. And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground (Holy Bible, Gen. 19.24-25). As you can see God destroyed the city of Sodom and Gomorrah because of homosexuality. I am not saying God will destroy our nation, because his people are still here in America, but God will hold us accountable, and judge us on the passing of same-sex marriage
