Should Religious Groups Give Service To Same Sex Couples

Recently there have been many controversies over the years on whether religious groups should give service to same sex couples. There has been an incident where a private owned cake business refused to bake a cake for a same sex couple. Another incident that has occurred is a woman refusing to give a same sex couple a marriage certificate. Accepting same sex couples allows religious groups to follow Jesus’s teaching, to avoid discrimination, and to follow the law. In many religions such as Mormonism, Christianity, and Judaism homosexuality (or same sex couples) are prohibited. In Mormonism, Christianity, and Judaism, they follow Jesus’s teaching. Jesus’s teaching says that, “we are to love one another and treat others the way you want to be treated.” During Jesus time on earth, many people like to test him in order for Jesus to prove that he was really the son of God. In this one instance (John 8), the Pharisees brought a woman who committed adultery, who the Pharisees wanted to stone, in front of Jesus. Mormons, Christians, and Jews have all been persecuted throughout history. During the holocaust all three (but especially Jews) were all persecuted. Christians were burned at the stake in England for disagreeing with the catholic church. When leaving England, many protestants left because not only did they want to start their religion over, but also because they were not welcomed in England anymore. When the Mormons were settling in America, they were forced out of a certain area because they were being persecuted because of their different beliefs. Despite the decade differences many Mormons, Christians, and Jews still face persecution today.
