Many parents deny the thought of preschool helping but for instance, “The original logic of helping disadvantaged children catch up still may be valid, because Head Start-type programs do show modest benefits during the preschool year” (Armor). Studies say it is a help because a child’s brain is being developed in the early age. For example, “Preschool-age children’s language skills are nurtured in a “language-rich’ environment. Between the ages of three and five, a child’s vocabulary grows from 900 to 2,500 words and her/his sentences become longer and more complex” (“Good”). Studies show that their vocabulary expands widely. “Studies shows,” says the article “Do Kids Really Need Preschool,” “That the benefit of preschool include overall academic achievements and school success, less grade repetition, special educations and increase high school graduation rates.” Not only will they succeed in elementary and middle school but also graduation rates will increase because of preschool. As a result of the graduation rate increasing, many of these kids will achieve life goals.
