The federal government has given police departments more than $40 million to invest in body cameras, and state and local authorities have spent many millions more. Officers wearing the recording devices are 66 percent less likely to use force, the data shows. Rialto also receives up to 88 percent fewer complaints about police conduct when officers clip on cameras (Anastasia 2). Police officers will point out to people that they are being recorded and the civilian starts to calm down and stay cool during the event of an arrest. In his opinion he feels that the cameras make him feel safer while he does his job. The first question that was do you like body cameras? His response was yes because In today's society police are often found in the media and portrayed in a negative light. It seems as though people have started filing complaints on officers more often possibly because they feel they have an easy ticket to the spotlight or money. He has found that body cameras have alleviated the complaints and helped police officers more often than they have hurt them. Next was do you feel that citizens like body cameras and why? Jason said no, he does not feel that people do not like the body cameras because people feel that you are more held accounted for your actions and more protected.
