Should Police Officers Use Body Cameras

Police officers now a days are not trusted or believed because of their past actions or possibly what they might do in the future. Police officers should be required to use body cameras. It will not only ensure that the police are following instructions but it will also ensure that they will not be using excessive force on anyone. Citizens will be able to see everything that happened in that case because most likely the footage will be released to the public to show what happened or so that citizens can also be cautioned. Though there is one reason that i don't think they should use body cameras and that is because the police will have access to viewing the footage. Viewing the footage will let them be able to manipulate anything that was inaudible and make it reasonable for their actions. Since the citizen and the police officer know that they are being recorded then they will do what they need to do with proper ways of doing it. They will follow all the rules that are applied to them and make to sure to follow all the steps that were taught if they were ever in a certain situation. This will not only help the officers and the community communicate and be more involved in things happening. But there will be less fighting and less problems in how they officers would be handling situations. According to the cartoon "Police Body Cameras" it is showing a witness, a suspect, and the cops, they all are saying "I ALWAYS tell the truth". This cartoon is describing how they could all be telling the truth but there is no way we could actually know if they really are telling the truth. You never know who's telling the truth unless you are there witnessing it and sometimes even witnesses
