Plastic surgery is one of the most popular surgery in teens and young adults. There are all types of plastic surgery that peoples can chose from. Millions of teens over the world have went through with the surgery. It helps them to build up their low self-esteem and feel wanted. Although some people get the surgery to help them look better and improve their self-esteem, plastic surgery should be banned from all states because it can harm the body, it can cause affects in so many years, and the cost of having it done is too high. Teens and young adults that goes through with plastic surgery will suffer with side effects in so many years. The surgery causes the body to appear with other active muscles. It could cause a person to lose a lot of blood and make everything go wrong. Aesthetic or cosmetic surgery is an operations of other procedures that changes the color, appearance, texture, structure or position of bodily feature to achieve what patients perceive to be a little more desirable (237). Nerve damage can also harm a person after having the surgery. Fifteen percent of women loses nipple sensation after having plastic surgery (238). Nevertheless, having an infection after having the surgery is one of the most common things to deal with. A skin infection occurs in two to four percent of people and it also require them to get hooked up to an IV antibiotic. The surgery can also leave bad scarring that can harm the body. The scars appear to be big, red, and noticeable that others can tell what went on. People think after having the surgery would make them look good but after seeing the scars it had left can change their whole appearance of the new look. Plastic surgery is not what they all think it is after finding out the damage it can do to the body and everything it can take from a person. Some people that get the surgery says that they spend over thousands of dollars on the surgery. Even though they spend so much money on the surgery, the money should be spent on something better and worth having. One of the most expensive surgery that people get is the breast reduction surgery. According to Nelson, “at the average cost of 5,630, breast-reduction surgery is the third-most-expensive cosmetic procedure (3). Some people also spend over 10,000 dollars on the surgery.
