One object includes a lighter material helicopter for higher altitude mission. One technique includes the Swiss rescue technique. Nick Heil, interviewed in “Helicopter Rescues Increasing on Everest” states, “ There’s been sort of the recent arrival of some powerful, new, lightweight helicopters that are able to operate at very high altitudes reliably.” If there is a situation where a climber is stuck at a very high altitude, heavy helicopters could not reach the climber. This new helicopter could definitely reach him/her reliably. Nick Heil also states, “And basically, what they’re doing is, they’re attaching a long line from the bottom of the helicopter, and they’re bringing a technician in at the end of the line. And they fly in close to the mountain. And they’re able to literally, pluck a climber off of a ridge.” Instead of the helicopter landing somewhere on the mountain, it can just pick the climber off and fly away to safety. SInce objects and techniques have been created for rescue missions, people should have the right to rescue services. The final reason why people should have the right to rescue services is, no one is going to stop climbing mountains, so why not save them when they are in need. In the …show more content…
But, the rescuers signed up to risk their lives, objects and techniques have been made for rescue missions and no one is going to stop climbers from climbing mountains. In the article “Why Everest” it says “ There have been over 230 deaths on the mountain.” Many of those people could have been saved from death. Also, in the article “ Helicopter Rescues Increasing on Everest” it says 4 to 5 helicopters are flying onto Everest base camps on a single day. Rescuers signed up to rescue and they keep doing it. So, even though people climber risk their lives for enjoyment or achievement, they should have the right to rescue services.
As a final point, the right to rescue services is a right people should have because rescuers signed up to risk their lives to save people, objects and techniques have been made for rescue missions and no one is going to stop the climbers from climbing. It is a right people should have forever to
