Should People Be Allowed to Keep Pitbull Dogs? Being able to have pit bulls as pets has been a very controversial topic lately. Some think they are very harmful to other people in the community and some think that pitbulls are just like any other dog and their behavior depends on how you raise them. I am going to explain why pitbulls are great pets. I believe that a pit bull's behavior depends on how the owner raises them, how much attention they are getting, and how the community responds to their actions. The thought of someone having a pitbull probably scares most people. But, pit bulls are proven to behave the way you train them to behave. If you raise your pitbull to be mean and vicious, that’s the way it is going to act. If you train your pitbull to be loving and calm, then it will act that way. It all comes down to the way …show more content…
The media is what gave pitbulls such a bad reputation. I believe that if there is anyone to blame about the behavior of ANY kind of dog, it would be the owner. It is the owner’s responsibility to take full responsibility of any type of animal they might have. Just like any other pet, pitbulls need the love, care, and respect as well. If you are someone who are against having pit bulls as pets, you’ve probably never experienced having one. Or, if you have had one and it was considered to be mean or vicious, how much love and care did you show it? Any dog can grow up and become mean. So, why is it just pit bulls who have such a bad rep? If you are on a walk, and notice a pitbull in someone’s yard, how would you respond? More than likely, you’re going to be somewhat or a lot frightened by it. So, the way you react in this situation may affect the way the pitbull acts towards you. If you do something the dog does not like, it might come after you. But, any other dog could do the exact same

While recently looking up Canadian laws, Animal Rights popped up and seemed very intriguing. From thereon, the Dog Owners Liability Act surfaced and it states “The owner of a dog is liable for damages resulting from a bite or attack by the dog on another person or domestic animal.” This law does make sense that the owner should take the responsibility of their dog because they were the ones who raised the dog to be the way it is but the one sub issue found with this law is the Pit Bull Ban. The total ban on the Pit Bull breed in Ontario is unacceptable because the government shouldn’t be targeting just the one breed because of the actions of several individual dogs, Pit Bulls shouldn’t be treated differently from other breeds, and if the government is already banning a whole breed, what is going to stop them from banning a bunch of other breeds that have the same attack numbers. Throughout this essay, it will be proven that the total ban of Pit Bulls is ridiculous and the law should be revoked.…

Banning Pit Bulls Doesn’t Solve the Problem Pit bulls are vicious animals and should not be pets, but let’s look at what they were really bred for. They were bred to hold these large animals by the face in the United Kingdom. When this had become illegal in the late 1800s, people decided a new fate for these companions, which was fighting.…
