Should Parents Be Charged?

Over the past few years there has been heartbreaking, and preventable deaths where children or babies have been left in hot cars unattended too. Some kids have died in this situation, and some have been left in critical condition. My argument is, do you think the parents should be charged if being in a hot car harmed their children? What if the parents claimed that it was accidental, should they walk free? In my opinion, I feel that the parents should be charged, even if they said it was an accident. Leaving a child in a hot car for hours is negligence, it’s irresponsible, and if the parents are saying it was an accident, there is no way that you could forget your own child in a car for so long. To begin with, leaving a child in a hot car for a long period of time unattended to, is negligence. It is never ok to leave a child in a hot car. As a parent you should not fail to take care of your child/children. I believe that if the results are fatal, or life threatening when a child is left in a hot car the parents should be charged. Parents should know better than to leave a child unattended to, especially in a car that’s nearly 100 degrees. In my opinion there is no possible way to forget your child in the car. I say that because children are very active, and a normal parent should be use to seeing, or hearing their kids. Before you get out of the car the first thing you should do is check to make sure the kids are not in there. Parents don’t forget the keys in the ignition, so how can you forget your child? If a parent leaves a child in a car that’s hot, and if the situation ends up being fatal, then the parents should be charged with murder, even if they claim it was an accident.
