Should men and women have the same status and equal pay? This is a question many people are hesitant to talk about. Many people want men and women to have the same status and equal pay. Yet others do not want to mess up the business world. Some still want to get ride of discrimination between man and woman. Since, if everyone got the same pay, everybody would not be discriminating against each other. Because men and women should be treated equally in all things, including job status and wages, men and women should be paid the same amount for the same job. If men and women got the same pay for the same job, we, the United States could grow more as a country. Men and women would both benefit from equal pay, because our country can grow and the …show more content…
When men and women get along, the world is a happier place. For example, when men and women get along, a business does better, and the business benefits from men and women getting along. Another example is if businesses provided equal pay, men and women would get more work done, and still get the equal amount of money. Businesses should think about people 's families and care about how there employees are doing, and care about there finances. "When women are not paid fairly, not only do they suffer, but so do their families" (Ledbetter). This shows if a business cared about a women 's life, a women would feel welcome and work …show more content…
Women should see that America is still young and a lot of figuring out is still in motion. America is young, it is only two hundred years old, and the United States are seeing what works and what does not, trial and error. Women are giving every thing they got to make this process go faster. If you ever met Brianna Sanoski before, she is the strongest women I have ever met, and just because she 's a women does not make her weak, in fact, she is stronger then most men. Just because a woman is a woman does not make her incapable of doing a mans job. The United States should focus on our own problems before we try to fix other countries problems. If the United States focused on equal pay, maybe this topic could be resolved already. A feminist company is trying to get rid of this discrimination by asking about equal pay to big industries like Facebook and Microsoft. "Arjuna Capital is trying to press big industries for equal pay for men and women, but Facebook and Microsoft say that they already have equal pay for men and women. There is not enough information for these statements to be true" (Wells). This shows that it is foolish for companies to say they have equal pay if they don 't, but if they do, this is a big step for this country. A woman, in fact can do a mans job well, even better then a man. These are all the reasons why equal pay could benefit women, and men all around the country. This

Within most companies only a few upper levels positions exist and very few are equivalent positions. That means most women are unable to prove, within the law, their exact male counterpart is earning more because their peer exists outside of their company. By addressing this issue the Equal Pay Act’s original goals can finally be met. With that, women will be much closer to receiving the same pay as men, and the business world will be one step closer to being…

The government needs to implement more equal pay policies because the gender gap affects half of the nations. The gender gap directly affects women but also impacts the whole nation, because when women make more money, the whole household benefits. An article about the gender gap from the White House states that “When women are not paid fairly, not only do they suffer, but so do their families” (“Understanding,” par. 1). This is very true because if a woman is making more money the whole household gets more money and benefits greatly. The gender gap also has a negative impact on the economy.…

This claim is backed by yearly data collected by the census and statistics bureau, which indicates that in many professions, men out-earn women by significant margins. This data is true form most professions even in fields that were traditionally regarded as a preserve for females such as teaching and nursing (Weinberger, 2011). However, the rampant gender discrimination should not serve as an excuse for companies such as Goodyear to perpetuate gender discrimination. Female employees all across the U.S should unite to fight for equal pay with their male counterparts in all professions, which is the ethical and morally right course of action. Various reasons have been advanced for the income disparities between men and women in America some of which include the fact that women might not work as many hours as men based on their role as home-makers and…

Though it may seem difficult, we can eliminate the gender pay gap. One solution to this problem is to make it easier for women to get an education (AAUW.org). Education affects a woman’s pay. Sometimes it is hard for a woman to get into a good school and earn a degree. We need to get colleges to accept more women into their buildings.…

Workplaces should have to provide equal pay for women and men. I don’t understand why women are paid lower although having the same job, same experience and working hours. Moreover, women have to take care of the household chores after work but men usually don’t, which means they work harder every day but receiving fewer benefits. I used to believe that workplace inequities would not happen to American women as they were the leaders of many women’s rights activities since the earliest days. Women have demonstrated their ability at work, in social and political issues, so of course they should have been paid equally.…

In 2017, men still get paid more than women do, which is not fair. For the past hundred years women have fought to get the same rights as men. Women have made it pretty far, but still do not have all the same rights as men do which is ridiculous. Women get paid 77 cents to every dollar a man makes working the same amount of hours at the same job. Therefore, we should stop the wage gap by protesting, by getting more people aware of the issue and killing the stereotype that women can not do the same jobs men can do.…

In America, one tends to think both women and men are paid equally, but women are paid less than men even at the exact same job. According to the article, “The Wage Gap 2014” in 2012 as full time workers, men made $854 per week while women only made $691, a gender wage ratio of 80.9 percent. The pay gap is larger than most people realize even with both a man and a woman having a college education. This has been an issue for America since 1868 and still is not resolved today. With women working the same jobs as men, it is only fair that they should be paid the same as the men working with them.…

Though the reasons to support equal pay for equal work are endless, the amount of people with the ability to find a fault to support their sexist views are shocking. One reason that many of those individual believe that there should not be equal work for equal pay is that people who are not paid equally do not try hard enough to raise their pay. Not only do most people work in an environment that limits the discussion of pay, but many women get penalized when attempting to negotiate for higher pay. In fact, a bill that would have stopped employer retaliation against workers who discussed their wages failed to pass in the senate in 2014 (Alter). This brings about one major issue; it would be impossible for a woman to try and raise unequal pay…

I believe that there are many societal gender issues that need to be addressed but one of the more significant issues is the gender wage gap. The gender wage gap (or gender pay gap) is the term that is used to describe wage inequality among men and women. In recent years, a high degree of awareness has been brought to this issue as more women enter the workforce, obtain college degrees, and climb the corporate ladder. This topic has also received heightened media attention from female celebrities, such as Jennifer Lawrence and Charlize Theron that have publicly detailed their wage negotiations and individual struggles to receive pay that is equal to their male counterparts. The increase in awareness can also be attributed to the rising…

At the end of the day, not being paid as much as a man for working in the same position is going to ultimately dent and hinder household incomes. With divorce rates being so high and single parent families seem to be always growing in numbers, such households are sadly losing out; there is a risk that those households could find themselves quickly falling into the poverty line, with no way of climbing out of it. This hardly seems fair! One thing I would also like to point out is the risk of going to extremes to hire women for certain positions, but who may not perform as well as males who could be more…
