My ambition was always to become a doctor because I loved and honored the fact that from “the cradle to the grave”, human race is safeguarded from infinite infections by white-coated medical professionals. However, the thought deepened further, when I first saw a close relative of mine getting a renal transplant, when I was 14 years old. I was amazed by the beauty of profession. My assumption was that only inanimate objects were repairable, however the thought of replacing a damaged organ was awe-inspirational. This inspiration lead me to believe that Medicine will be my first and only career choice to accomplish my dream of serving humanity.

As an acting intern, during the bedside clinics I worked in, I molded myself into a better physician by building skills of detailed history taking and clinical examination, before arriving at the differential diagnosis. During the mandatory internship in my final year at Medical school, I learnt that Doctors are the advocates for their patients and an effective communication skills along with the medical knowledge is mandatory to maintain a healthy physician-patient relationship. My passion to explore new languages has improved my ability to communicate and to multi-task without getting stressed out. Playing badminton trained me to be quick, agile and competitive. As I enjoy reading, I spent after school hours in library to familiarize myself with the latest advancements in medicine. I did an extensive literary search for the finest available treatment options to cure the disease. I was distressed to learn that there are a large amount of autoimmune diseases and cancers with no definite cure. But at the same time, the number of clinical trials and advanced treatment options available in the USA for such rare diseases were overwhelming. The wide areas of research, innovative ways to provide care, world-class facilities and leading-edge technologies are the reasons that sealed my decision to pursue my career in the
