Copple wanted to dispute all of the support of medical marijuana and discourage people from listening to the propaganda techniques used in the meeting. Some people think marijuana is dangerous and make assumptions about it without the proper research of the substance. People like Laurel Dewey, who wrote an article on her marijuana discovery, believe marijuana is fatal prior to investigating the subject. For example, people against cannabis will make statements such as: “marijuana is dangerous” or “only brain dead stoners use it” (Dewey). Dewey discovered that all the while she had been criticizing cannabis, thousands of people all over the world had been using it for several health issues, including epilepsy, chronic depression, migraines, Crohn 's disease, insomnia and many more (Dewey). With all things considered, the government needs to stop ignoring the facts and consider the benefits that patients could receive and also the economy. Medical marijuana is essential to society because it assists people with diseases, decreases unnecessary expenses in prisons, and could prevent many people from becoming convicts.

Marie, who suffers from severe epilepsy, doesn 't have many options to help her cope with her disease. Therefore, medical marijuana is one of the few choices available for her. In further detail, the doctors told Marie, after discovering a brain aneurism, that she couldn’t live a pain-free life. She coped with the pain, but the aneurism required rigorous surgery, where pieces of her skull and eye sockets were taken out to gain control of the problem. Taking her friend’s advice, Marie tried medical marijuana, and for the first time in a while she felt no pain (“Medical Pot Helped”). Marie uses marijuana approximately five times a month, she still can’t believe how it has greatly affected her (“Medical Pot Helped”). Subsequently, Trystyn, Christine Emineth 's 5-year-old daughter, suffers from epilepsy, which is also called Dravet syndrome, which required her to take almost two dozen pills per day to maintain stability (La Corte 10-11). Trystyn began using low-THC marijuana coconut oil and her mother said it made such a huge difference that she could stop one of her medications (La Corte 10-11).
