Many are convinced that the legalization of medical marijuana is a terrible idea; any form of marijuana affects the brain, marijuana use would increase, marijuana does not meet the standards of modern medicine, and black market sales and the diversions would increase. Marijuana is illegal for good reason. Having the legalization of marijuana happen would remain with many consequences. Marijuana should stay illegal in the United States because if it is legalized, more people will smoke it, causing negative effects on health and families. If medical marijuana becomes available for adults who qualify to use it, it is more than likely that black market sales will heavily target their remaining market, our youth. It will soon be diverted for recreational abuse. The mass marketing of marijuana would launch and become very popular. Restrictions would expand and would not apply to marijuana.
