Cannabis legalization was something of a myth 20 years ago, but as the world is adapting to and making cannabis legal is it not time for Canada to do so as well? According to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, a drug is considered to be a chemical substance that alters the structure or function of a living organism. In Canada it is an offence to posses one single cannabis cigarette(joint) and for a first-time summary conviction offence the punishment is a fine of up to $1000 and/or six months imprisonment.
