For it or against it, the choice to legalize marijuana has become a very controversial topic in our country. Why is that? Talking about the subject can sometimes be difficult to understand. There are so many things to know when it comes to marijuana, and just when you think you know it all, you really have only scratched the surface. Another thing that can be hard to understand is all the different information that is thrown at us and what we can believe. The most important thing we need to know, is that marijuana is nothing more than a plant, that can be used as a drug. That being said, if people in the United States were better educated on the topic, they may not be so wary of the plant. Marijuana should be legalized for all its uses so people can reap it of its benefits. Marijuana is derived from two subspecies of cannabis, which are Cannabis Sativa, known as hemp and Cannabis Indica, most commonly known as marijuana. Both can be used for similar purposes such as medicine, but early cultivation changed their …show more content…
A report written by a doctor about her patients describes the effects marijuana had on them with different health issues. She worked with veterans who struggled with post-traumatic stress disorder, who sometimes had to take up to twelve different medications to deal with all their mental or physical problems. Later, she found out that many had started to get better or stopped using their prescription medications when given marijuana. After doing some more research, she found that marijuana was not only a promising solution to the effects of PTSD, but also countless others.
