With the recent changes of laws legalizing recreational use and small of amounts of marijuana in many states such as Oregon, Alaska, and Washington, D.C, it has become a very controversial topic in today’s society. Marijuana been has named as dangerous drug that serves no purpose, these types of false malicious claims have been made by misinformed individuals in addition to propaganda throughout the last century, these claims have been replaced with concrete facts. Facts that show marijuana is more than what society perceives, rather a plant with a wide range of potential uses which is why the Federal government should fully legalized Marijuana.

While the rest of the states without medical marijuana leaves many sick people at limb to buy their much needed medication directly from drug dealers, not only supporting the drug ring but potentially puts the patients freedom at risk if caught. An unfortunate ordeal, since marijuana is considered one of the safest drugs since there are no record deaths unlike most pharmaceuticals. What differentiates other drugs from marijuana is that it can be consumed in safer ways other than smoking, such as: incorporated into food, vaporizing which produces no smoke, and or ointments that can be applied on the skin. These alternative ways of medicating are important for those individuals who cannot smoke or may want a healthier option. The many different options individuals would have if marijuana legalization is the ability to buy from a dispensary, allowing the consumer to buy in a safe manner but also become a better educated buyer
