It would provide many jobs for individuals and help the government. Having marijuana legal would provide jobs for people such as the grower, owning a dispensary and delivery services. Aside from providing hundreds of jobs for Americans, the government would also greatly benefit, by taxing marijuana. In states such as Colorado, they are making an insane about of money simply by taxing it. “In Colorado,” marijuana is “outpacing revenue from alcohol taxes” (Basu). In 2015, “Colorado collected almost $70 million in marijuana taxes” which was “nearly double… collected from alcohol taxes” (Basu). The black market could also be eliminated due to the legalization of cannabis. Marijuana has benefits in all aspects for everyone involved. The assurance that cannabis will not end in causality should also make people reconsider their stance on anti-marijuana. There is no reason for marijuana to continue to be illegal considering all the benefits it has on individuals as well as the Government.
