According to Paul Armentano, more than 1 in 3 people in America have tried marijuana at one point in their lives. Although, many Americans believe marijuana does not cause harm, it does. Hemp, pot, weed, Mary Jane, herb, are all nicknames for marijuana. Even though people call it these nicknames, it is also known as Cannabis sativa which is the technical term. Cannabis sativa is a plant which people use the seeds, leaves, and stems in order to drain out delta-nine Tetrahydrocannabinol. Delta-nine Tetrahydrocannabinol is the main drug found in cannabis sativa that gives people the “high” feeling. People of all ages often smoke marijuana with pipes, joints, blunts, buds, or bongs. In addition, some people do not smoke it, but instead eat it within baked foods such as brownies and cookies or digest it through lollipops, or chocolate bars. Furthermore, in some instances people “hash” any form of marijuana in order to enhance the strength of Tetrahydrocannabinol. Marijuana should be illegal because it causes tolerance, misuse, abuse and addiction that damages and has negative impacts on the user’s life and body whether they are physical or psychological problems that have short and long term effects. Cannabis or more known as marijuana has been divided into medicinal purposes, but whether it is medical or not it still contains the main ingredient and drug tetrahydrocannabinol also often referred to as THC.
