Should Margot Survive For Five Years

Improved Essays
How does Margot survive for five years without seeing the sun and instead being drenched with rain on Venus. Margot has not seen the sun for about 5 years and it is about to come out for the first time in five years. What my thoughts on this are that Margot should be more grateful because other kids seen the sun seven years ago but have no memory of it because they were two years old. So Margot should stop acting so impatient because, She has seen the sun more than any of the other kids because she lived on earth for four years of her life. The other kids need more of a chance to see the sun more than she does because they can't even remember what the sun looks like, and finally Margot should just be grateful that she saw the sun for longer and she hasn't lived on venus her whole life. …show more content…
For example Margot has seen the sun before with the memory of it because she lived on the earth for 4 years before she actually moved to Venus. She keeps writing poems on how the sun looks like, for example she writes a poem about how the sun is like a flower the blooms for just one hour. She is petty much just telling people how the sun looks to make herself feel better. But the other kids don't really believe that she has been on earth for four years and has seen the sun before with memory of it. Margot gets into a fight arguing with a boy about her seeing the sun. I feel that the other kids are getting tired about Margot telling them how the sun

I choose to draw this scene because I wanted to show how removed and shy Margot was. I drew the children looking out the window longing to see the sun, and I drew Margot also wanting to see the sun but farther away from the group kids. Near Margot I made the colors dim and less vibrant because I wanted to show how gloomy her mood is. The closer to the window I got the more color I put; I did this to foreshadow the sun that was to come. I drew the child's face who puts Margot in the closet angry and looking at her so you could see how mad he was that there was no sun yet.…

According to Porter (2008), Margot is currently displaying behaviours that represent low self-esteem and a need to develop a positive sense of self. This is evident, as Margot is showing signs of separation anxiety; having difficulty transitioning into childcare, refusing to eat and sleep when at the centre and persistently calling for her parents (Kearns, 2010; Porter, 2008). Therefore, Margot is exhibiting a deficit in safety, love and a sense of belonging in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs (Duchesne et al., 2013). Consequently, prohibiting Margot from developing a healthy self-esteem, confidence and independence to successfully transition into childcare (Duchesne et al., 2013; Hutchison, 2013). As a result, to address Margot’s behaviour and…

Margot is being bullied because in Earth she saw the Sun and the other kids that are bullying her do not remember how it was. In this planet, the Sun comes out every 7 years and the kids do not have memory of it. In this story many of the children on Venus are jealous of Margot’s opportunities and previous life on earth. When children are jealous, they turn against Margot. One example is when she is reading the poem, instead of listening to Margot the students shut her down without even listening. Just because students are jealous it does not mean that they can bully Margot. While this is important theme it is easily seen that if it weren’t for Margot not thinking about what she said or did that this wouldn’t have happened, so overall the important point is that it is needed for everyone to take a minute an think about the results in the end from what they…
