“Did you know that since 1975, 255,00 have been saved because they were wearing a seatbelt? (Motor Vehicle Safety).” Should laws require people to wear seatbelts? A law should require people to wear a seatbelt because it helps people make sure that they wear it, it keeps people safe, and it saves lives. Seatbelts are a big issue for people to remember to wear. Many people hop into a car and don’t put their seatbelt on, but why? This device could save your life, so why wouldn’t you want to wear it? “In 2009, Wisconsin upgraded its seatbelt law to primary enforcement, and the state’s Department of Transportation determined that Wisconsin’s seat belt use rate increased to nearly 80% in 2011 (http://saferoads.org/issues/seat-belts/).” If laws …show more content…
She was a nice, funny, and successful student and had many wonderful friends. As she was in her car, she was texting and wasn’t paying attention to the road. She veered off into the ditch as her car wet into a field and started flipping over, and over, and over again. She was not wearing her seatbelt and had been thrown out of the car. Laying in a field, as an ambulance was on its way. They tried to save her, but they were not able to. Just if she wore her seatbelt, she would still be here today. She was my sister’s best friend, and she impacted so many lives while she lived on this Earth. Like many people say all the time, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” I don’t know why this is, Alyssa was the one that decided that day if she was going to live that day when she got into that car and didn’t put per seatbelt on.
In every state, everybody should be forced by a law to wear their seat belts. Seat Belts are one of the best inventions because it has the powers of saving lives and keeping people safe, but still people refuse to want to wear them when they get into a vehicle.
