It’s Their Job, So Why Not Pay Them?
Kids don’t have to go out and get a real job, like working retail, waiting tables, etc., but I think they really do have a job and that’s school. They go out and do something they really don’t want to do to potentially further themselves in the world. Would it be so bad to pay them to get good grades?
Some people see it as bribing the kids into doing well, that getting good grades is expected, so they don’t need to be paid for doing something they are supposed to do. The thing is, is doesn’t every job bribe you with money. Paying the kids at school will not only help them in school, but it will prepare them for the workforce; Teaching them that if you want that big paycheck at the end of the week you are going to have to put in the hours, even when you don’t want to. School is where they spend nearly 2,894 hours of their lives. A place where they figure out that they want to become a fireman, doctor, or electrician. School is the start line of their careers, where they learn dedication. So why not teach them the value of a dollar and how it feels to work for something, not to just have it given to you by your
