Should Kids Get Paid For Completing Household Chores

Decent Essays
I help my parents around the house all the time and I never get paid to do so. But here’s why. Regardless of wanting to be rewarded, it's not about the money. Should kids get paid to do chores or should they not? I believe that kids should not get paid for completing household chores. First of all, if our parents do decide to pay, we could decide not to do the chores and miss out on they money. Why is that so bad? The garbage will keep piling up in the can. Dishes won’t be washed. Gross, eating off of dirty dishes! Rufus won’t get get let out to use the bathroom. Was that pee stain there before? Second of all, when our parents were our age, if they didn’t do their chores, they got seriously punished. Also, they had a lot more and harder chores.
