Should Kids Get A Trophy Essay

When you are in a sport should you get a trophy for just being in that sport or should you just get one as a team? Well, when you are growing up people may think that to be fair all the kids should get a trophy but as they get older there should be a trophy for the entire team. Giving kids that confidence boost is good but also showing them that working as a team could be just as important. Children need to learn to be individuals and to work with a team as a team. Trophies should represent you did something good and doing it as a team is a good way to learn your team skills. Young kids should be given individual trophies so they can learn to be an independent person. Parents may wonder why they do teams and independent trophies but if you don't it can make the competition in a child grow so massive that they can not work as a team so they end up doing everything on their own. The competition is very strong with middle aged kids because they want to be the best but they figure out real quick so does everybody else. Some things still give them participation trophies but they also hand out team trophies so they can get a chance to have that team and be an individual without having to commit to that team. “Training intensity increases in direct relationship to the nearness of the competition, and the degree of motivation increases as the competitive Armageddon draws closer.” In this quote it is talking about how if you are very competitive then you can be very good at what you do but that does not mean that you are a good team
