Should Kids Be Forced To Join The Army

Would you like your child to join the army whether he or she wanted to or not? The worst is not only that, they make them do things you’ve never imagined your kids would be doing. Nobody wants that. Now why should kids be forced to join the army if that’s not their dream. Let them choose whatever they would like to be in life. Why should kids at a young age be forced to join the army if that is not what they have been looking forward too. Some people may not agree with me, but I have many reasons to support my opinion. My first reason is kids at a young age should not be going to the army is that they might get prosecuted for crimes against humanity. Kids are just too irresponsible to be part of an army and they don’t know how to control themselves they also don’t know what could happen if they do something wrong , if they are going to be part of an army, they force them to go and this is irritating me …show more content…
I am against childs that are being used for the military, but in total there are a lot of kids, more that you expected!. About 250,000 children (below 18) are participating on 30 armies in total. This is damaging the kids because this amount could almost cover half of one country maybe less or more but this quantity is a lot. The kids are just not ready to be part of an army because they are not even teens yet. All the kids that participate on the armies do not take this serious and this is a big problem because they could get killed if they are not using the weapons correctly or they are not doing there job and that is another reason why the kids don’t want to be a soldier anymore, they have to follow everything they tell them and they are going to be treated like if they were adults whether they want to or not, from now on there life is going to change and it’s not going to be the same as if they were with their

In the war many children are enlisted to fight. They are instructed to injure innocent people such as strangers and possibly even family members. What shocks people the most about this is that children, who are all under the age of 18, are completing these harsh acts. Children are a cheap and plentiful resource for military commanders in need of a steady troop supply to war zones. Their underdeveloped ability to assess danger means they are often willing to take risks and difficult assignments that adults or older teenagers will refuse. Children are more impressionable than adults, and depending on their age and background, their value systems and consciences are not yet fully developed.(steel) So, since they are so little they will be easy to manipulate their minds so they will kill anybody they tell them to. According to debatewise.org, it states, “It may be that the child thought it would be safer to enlist or factors such as poverty and hunger influenced their decision rather than a desire to fight. Once children are recruited into the military it is also difficult for them to leave because they become dependent on their commanders for drugs, alcohol, money and food.” What this evidence suggests is, that the child soldiers don’t go there to fight and kill people. The child soldiers just want to go there for the food and money. This shows that child soldiers should be given amnesty because they are forced to join the armed services for the money and food.…

Therefore, the crimes that the kids committed aren’t their own fault, but the people that put them in that position. The young adolescents that join armies do kill people and commit crimes, but this is not their choice. ”Armed and underage” by Jeffrey Gettleman states, “Thousands of boys, some as young as 10, are purchased, kidnapped, or terrorized into joining the country’s army.” This goes to show that the crimes the child soldiers commit are against their will so they should not get in trouble for doing things that they do not want to do.…

Child soldiers are individuals who haven’t reached adulthood (ranging from 15 to 18 years old worldwide) yet take part in military or other armed groups, primarily as victims of slavery and abuse. Throughout history children have been given orders to combat, spy, scout, and serve their commanders, and even exploited as shields and suicide bombers. The United Nations estimated 300,000 child soldiers across the world in 2000, while there are approximately hundreds of thousands of children as of 2015. Since 1989 the UN has been imposing regulations and standards for the possible universal age minimum to be considered beyond childhood, originally starting at 15. In 2000, the UN established the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights…
