If there was a system of making the immigrants legal then they would be allowed to drive, work, and leave and enter the country. There are quite a few immigrants who came into the country illegally and now can’t get out. They have been stuck in the country for many years. Some reasons they would need to go back home are seeing family, finding jobs, and finding a new place to live. There is a very small amount of states in the U.S. That allow illegal immigrants to get a drivers license. Many opponents do not want there to be a path to citizenship because the immigrants have broken the law, and this would be a reward for them. If a criminal were to break the law they would not be rewarded, so why should the immigrants. There are lots of people that do not look into topics like this and those are the kind of people that will judge. They would look down on immigrants without researching the topic more. These people would not be able to judge the immigrants anymore if the immigrants had all the rights as an American. Equality is also a big topic right now and this would help with that
