Let Them Be Free Why can’t citizens just let people from other countries experience the land of the free and home of the brave, like their forefathers? Imagine seeing family every day, then; it is all taken away in seconds. Throughout the year's illegal immigrants have been taken from their families and loved ones. Immigration has been a struggle in the United States for decades. Some believe that illegal immigrants should be eliminated. However, amnesty, an official pardon, is a great option for the twelve million illegal immigrants. Although not everyone supports immigration, it can help the United States because of population growth and national security.

Admittedly, as Jeffrey Bowman and C. Ames Cushman claims, “undocumented immigrants do not pay the taxes that American citizens pay, but still take advantage of many public services, such as public hospitals and public schools” (Bowman & Cushman). However, if immigrants were granted social services it would save taxpayers money (Pawlick & Finley). Therefore, undocumented Americans would tremendously be helpful to the economy and America.
