In a high school setting everything that happens in the classroom is on the teacher. If a child has left the classroom or the child is failing, then it is up to the teacher to do something about it, like report to a security guard or call parents. High school teachers are usually blamed for pretty much everything. The main thing they are blamed for are students failing. When a child fails almost everyone is after the teacher: parents, students, principal, and superintendent. High school teachers have to be stricter because their jobs are on the line.

A college professor expectations is not as high as a high school teacher. A high school teacher has to be stricter because, they need to make sure that every single person in their class passes therefore matter what, they give up more of their free time for their students. Unlike a college professor it is up to the students if they want to pass or not. The professor would not hold their students hand and help them through every step of the way. The professor will help their student to the first step, but students have to go the rest of the way by themselves. So the expectations of a professor and a teacher are different for their students. The teacher expects more because they give a lot of their time to their students and the professor expect not as much a teacher because it is up to the students if they want to
