Primarily, criminals and the law force would not have the use of such a dangerous weapon. Sure enough, there are criminals in the world that need to be captured and sentenced to prison. Although most have taken place in the United States and not Canada, the shootings have still caused a major effect on children, teenagers and young adults who are attending school all around the world; as well as teachers and others working with them. Some are even afraid to go to school on the days following a massacre elsewhere. These terrible attacks have resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries, yet all could have been prevented of the one thing that caused these tragic fates did not exist. Even if a portion of the shooters in these situations were mentally ill, it is no exception that all of the gunmen, especially the young ones, should not have been able to get ahold of any type of gun. If there was not a weapon as deadly as the gun, there would not result in such a large amount of innocent deaths every year. For example, the Virginia Tech Massacre in 2007 resulted in 33 deaths and 17 injuries. Would it have been possible for the shooter to go through with this massacre with an alternate weapon, like a
