Girls are furious boys are being wrongly accused tensions are high because some people have no respect for anything, they will take of advantage of anything and everything that is privileged to them. In Mrs. Clason's middle school writing and reading class the students are able to use restroom, hall, nurse and office passes during the class period. Mrs.Clason clearly stated at the beginning of the year that the passes are not be used improperly, and that if they were, the privilege would be revoked. In this particular writing class on September 21 Jason Bland, student in the algebra-writing class, decided that it was a good idea that he use the girls restroom pass due to the boys pass being used. After the class had settled in their seats Mrs. Clason waited a minute and then proceeded to take the passes off of the wall. While in the act she asked the class if it was ok to improperly use the restroom passes, glaring at Jason, the whole class responded with abrupt silence, then some mumbling under their breaths some responding with a weak “No.” They knew that the were in trouble. Nobody knows why he does this, but one other student has been on Mrs. Clasons radar, wondering why he uses the passes more than once in a class period, Colin Bishop. Mrs. Clason is more lenient with his pass using. Joking around, having conversations with him saying, “Colin did you see a doctor about your frequent bathroom using?” He would reply with, “ Yes I did, and he will send the results to you soon!” Obviously joking around. This raised the question of does Mrs.Clason really WANT to take away our passes or just for some

In Simon Sebastian’s article “He Was Abused by a Female Teacher, but Was Treated like a Perpetrator”, a female teacher sexually abused her male student, but she was viewed as the victim. This article addresses the double standard in courtrooms that let the teacher get off with such a short prison sentence. Sebastian states that the seriousness of teacher-student sexual abuse on a male victim by a female teacher is not understood by some because it is believed that male students do not mind being sexually harassed by a woman because they are driven by raging hormones at such a young age. The student was bullied when he went to school because people were convinced that he had ruined “the poor girl’s life”. The student had his car vandalized with hateful messages and shapes of male genitalia bleached into the front yard of his home.…

In the cafeteria of P.S.279, I stood in shock as the liquid fluid ran from the top of my head seeping down my freshly ironed shirt and down to the sole's of my shoes. At that moment, I realized that I was standing in a puddle of my own chocolate milk. "Haha" she laughed, but I did not get the joke. I began to call for the teacher and she, barely four feet, grabbed my arm and said "If you snitch I'm gonna say you called me a bitch. " That sentence alone would be used to justify her actions.…

Transgender Being transgender is when a person’s gender identity does not conform with their biological sex. Speculating on how people are identifying as a transgender individual is a difficult and very controversial topic to discuss due to the fact that nobody knows what is morally correct. One author, Ruth Padawer, has brought the topic to light, presenting us with examples from one of the most prestigious women’s colleges in the United States. In her 2014 piece, “Sisterhood is Complicated”, she ponders on the idea of if people who identify as transgender should be permitted to attend an all women’s college. In her piece, she states that, “Some two dozen other matriculating students at Wellesley don’t identify as women.…

“Boys will be boys” my mom said nonchalantly as I told her what had occurred in my last class period of the day. It baffled me how a teenage boy being mocked for his sexuality could be so trivial in her eyes. I didn’t understand how the struggle for gay rights was any different from black rights or feminism. To me we were all united, brought together by our interminable fight for equality and acceptance. As an amiable and peaceful introvert I find it difficult to stand up for what I believe is right.…

Analyzing the ethical case between Ms. Smith and Wesley helped me gain awareness of ethical dimensions and practices. When Ms. Smiths phone went missing she viewed Wesley as a disadvantaged citizen in an unjust society. The reading does not state that Wesley stole his teachers phone, but educational policies persuaded Ms. Smith to believe so. The dilemma arises when Ms. Smith has to determine whether to follow the zero-tolerance policy or report her phone missing to higher authority. Principles of the dilemma compete because of the values at stake, and Ms. Smith has to determine her line of action to prioritize her student over herself.…

Historically, women have had a disadvantage compared to their male peers. Until the 1920s, women did not wear pants, nor could they vote. Society has come far since then, women can now practically do anything a man can (vote, own land, join the army, make decisions), however, they are still believed to be inferior. To state this in similar terms, look at sports. Women don’t play football, and those sport that have female leagues, do not get close to the amount of attention as similar male sports do (Basketball, Softball).…
