Diamond wants to try out for the football team. She goes to try out for the team and begins to stretch when Coach Mathis walks over to her. He says with a confused look, ¨What are you doing?” She replies, ¨I'm trying out for team.¨ Coach took a long pause and let out a long holler. Diamond ran off full of anger. She knew the coach had reacted this way because she was a girl. Girls should be able to play male sports because they can perform better in school, they can be just as passionate about the sport and they can perform athletically just as good as boys. For instance, if a boy were to tackle a girl then that girl would probably be hurt in some way because the boy is much bigger. Whereas, boys going against other boys their size would be more fair than a girl going against a boy. Also, if a boy were to actually tackle a girl, he would be criticized for this because she was a girl. It is true that there are a variety of stereotypes against women playing male sports and men are in most scenarios bigger than women. However, the women/girls that are willing to participate in sports like football or baseball, then they should be able! Girls shouldn’t be discriminated against just because they are girls. Over many years, females have been seen as lower than men and there were even various rights that men had and women did. Now that they have their rights, shouldn’t they be able to do a simple thing like play football?
