“If the gay-rights movement today seems to revolve around same-sex marriage, this generation is seeking something more radical: an upending of gender roles beyond the binary of male/female. The core question isn’t whom they love, but who they are- that is, identify as distinct from sexual orientation,” (Michael Schumann, 2013). Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) is a culture that is becoming part of the mainstream culture in America. The LGBT community is fighting for what they desire even with the discrimination like the Orlando Florida shooting, violence and hatred, and are still able to make the things they want happen, happen. But what really is LGBT? Lesbian which is a female affinity and a female, gay is a male affinity and a male. Bisexual this is a female affinity both male and female and a male affinity both female and male. Transgender is when someone is born as a female and gets a sex change to become a male and when I male gets a sex change to become a female. According to Dr. Eric Anthony Grollman, 2012, states “3.4 percent of Americans identify as LGBT." Grollman also said that people that identify as part of the LGBT community that they are between the ages of 18 and 29 which is higher of those that are not. In conjunction with more females are part of the LGBT community than males, which is over 3%. What is it that the LGBT community desire? They want equal rights and the violence and harassment directed towards them to cease.…
