For instance, there was never a law passed to state that women must be called Mrs. after they were married instead of miss, it simply evolved over time as more and more people used it, and now it is common use. Thus, if this were a larger issue then there would already be more solutions to it. Peterson also acknowledged that it is good to regulate speech sometimes, such as when people wrongfully deny that the Holocaust occured, but in terms of gender neutral pronouns, speech should not be regulated. He states that the truth is much greater than the kindness, and thus no laws should be made. This however, is a rather harsh look on the topic. With respect to this, the government’s power to interfere with its citizen’s speech, should have numerous limitations and restrictions to prevent tyranny of those in power (Mill, 6). Therefore, the Canadian government should not be involved in this complaint against Maclean 's magazine. The Canadian government should not intervene in this situation because the harm caused by the action of intervening is greater than inaction. Canada’s government should be preserving our freedom of speech and not violating this fundamental freedom.…

While recognition and acceptance of non-binary genders is the right way forward, more needs to be done. Ideally, the rules and boundaries of gender need to be loosened; the idyllic portrayal of what a man and woman are stripped away. A society that operates on newborn babies to mold them into a two gender system and uses language as a means of keeping the two genders distant, is both ignoring the millions of people who do not fit into the system and actively fighting against biology which tells us that the genders are not so different. A person who does not fit their gender should not have to choose between the gender they were assigned and the gender they were not. The spectrum of gender is not a venn diagram with distinct boundaries, but rather a boundaryless space for individuals to determine who they are for…

“Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech” is the first amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Does this amendment state that I can say anything, without restriction, and not have consequences from the government?
