Should Everyone Go To College

Does everyone have to go to college? It is strongly argued that everyone should at least attempt college if they want a shot at a successful life. This is not always true. In today’s time there are jobs that don’t require a college degree. By telling all the young people that they should go to college no matter what, we are actually doing them a disadvantage. All students should have the ability to go to college if they choose to, but it should not be necessary that every student must go to college.
Some people honestly aren't cut out for college, or they may not find it necessary for the career path they might choose. The price of college is ridiculous and without finical aid it would be impossible for some to even attend college. College

In the reading "Should Everyone Go to College?", by Stephanie Owen and Isabel Sawhill they give their opinion on whether college is the best option for everyone or not. Owen and Sawhill's logos is stronger than their pathos and ethos on making their point. Their targeted audience is the kids that are undecided on whether to go to college or not. A couple of factors that decide on the return to education is the cost and the field of study selected, and both of these are very effective in whether a kid goes to college or not.…

In the reading “Are Too Many People Going to College?” first published in 2008, Charles Murray argues that while the need and idea of going to college and getting a B.A. is becoming increasingly more important, not everyone needs a college education. Murray believes that any student that has already graduated from high school has already, in a sense, obtained a college education. He points out that by the time students finishes eighth grade, they should already have learned all the “core knowledge” they need to know (236). By the time they get to high school, students should be focusing more on the liberal aspect of education by taking courses in the “humanities, social sciences, and sciences” where they are “taught at a level below the demand…
