And this is the ultimate self-determination, when you determine how and when you 're going to die when you 're suffering.” Many people like to think that euthanasia is inhumane because it is the killing of another person, this is simply not the case. Euthanasia should be supported because it relieves long-term suffering. It can save others from psychological distress, and it can be financially beneficial for the loved ones left behind. Treatments for any illness are expensive, no matter what income bracket someone is in, but fighting a battle with a terminal illness is a fight where everyone loses. If people could take the emotion out of terminal illness, the decision about end a life to save money or long term suffering, more people might make a smarter choice. Patients always hear we want to keep people around for a long time or we want to do whatever it takes to keep people alive or God will save them, but reality is, that there is no cure, regardless of how much money you have, time is time, and God has probably chosen it is their time to go.
