Electricians bring electricity to businesses, factories, and homes. They put in and repair new wires and fuses. These carry electricity. Some electricians put in special wires that go to phones, computers, and TVs. An electrician's work can be tiring. Electricians do a lot of bending and lifting. They are on their feet a lot. For these reasons, electricians should be fit. They should also be able to see colors well. Most electricians join apprentice programs. This way, they get paid to learn on the job. The programs also include training in a classroom. To get into a program, you must be over 18 years old. You must have finished high school or earned a GED.
Electricians work about 40 hours a week. However, some electricians work more. Those
