Should Driverless Cars Be Allowed On The Road? Everyday new technology is being to help people such as driverless cars, but they are not allowed to be drove on the road, my argument explains why these futuristic cars should be allowed on the road. 90% of car accidents are caused by driving error(Mitchell 1). These cars have been on over a million miles of road and have only caused one accident(Pogue 1). Driverless cars would be great for the environment and could reduce the amount of gasoline used. Now people say that these cars are unsafe and extremely dangerous, because they are unable to turn. However, other people like myself believe that this can easily be fixed. These cars would reduce car accidents and make driving safer. With all the astonishing features these cars have like helping the environment, making driving more relaxing, and reduce the amount of car accidents, America should allow driverless cars on the road. …show more content…
With driverless cars we can reduce these deaths. Without people driving the cars they would be completely safe. We would reduce car accidents and deaths by cars. For example, Google’s new self driving cars would avoid crashing by talking to each other. Basically, Google Self driving cars would be impossible to crash. Driverless cars would be programmed to go the speed limit wherever ever they go(ProQuest). These cars would not go to fast or slow which would be safe for everyone. Now some people may say, they are only 10% safer(scientificnature.com) which is not a big percentage, or they are not safe at all, because you are not in control. These cars can and will help reduce and prevent driving accidents caused by flawful
