Should Dress Codes Be Required In Schools?

Many schools have dress codes for students. Each year schools provide students with a handbook. In the handbook there is a section named “dress code”. Many students fail to bide by the dress code. Dress codes are not enforced just to make the students mad but it is enforced to protect each and every student in the school building. Dress codes should and should not be required in schools because some clothes are too revealing, students have an advantage of hiding weapons in hats or coats, but some schools force students to wear uniforms. First of all, some clothes that students wear are too revealing. Kids come to school sometimes with shorts that do not cover their bottoms, guys have their pants sagging, and some girls wear shirts that reveal their chest area. Sports have uniforms that may show objects that should not be shown. For example, volleyball players are required to wear spandex to play in but some spandex do not cover their entire behind. Another sport that wears a uniform that does not cover the entire private parts is cheerleading. Cheerleaders at my school wear shorts to school on Fridays that never cover everything. If a teacher notices that a student has inappropriate clothing on they will send that student to the office. The student will most likely get sent home. Dress codes help to make a more safe and secure environment for the students and teachers. Some schools are more strict on dress code than others. Dress codes in schools should be more enforced because students should not be going to school with inappropriate attire on. Students should be mature enough to know the limits of what not to wear to school. They can wear inappropriate clothing anywhere else but
