Creativity is the use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work. Creativity is all around us. It is in school, jobs, sports and even communicating with others. A study has shown that it is decreasing greatly. As a result of that, an argument has arose whether we should start teaching it in schools or not. Although “creativity is the No. 1 leadership competency of the future,” I believe that it cannot be taught and it would not be a good idea in school. Economically, it would be very expensive and out of many schools’ budget. Later in life, we need a lot more than being creative. Schools today need to be more worried about getting us ready for the future in our knowledge before they start teaching creativity.

All this money can be spent on many other things.
I feel like it would just be a place to practice, when kids should do their practicing on their own time when they are alone. Creativity can be practiced in drawing, reading and talking, but not taught.
Secondly, schools need to be teaching more knowledge than creativity for our future. I strongly believe that we already have creative classes such as art, basketball and band. We don’t need a whole separate class just for that when we already have those type of classes. In the ones we already have, it can’t be necessarily forced upon anyone. It can only be strongly encouraged. Teachers can inspire the students to express themselves in a creative manner. Creativity is something inside us and it’s something that we have to express ourselves. It would not be creativity if someone had to teach us how to do it. In school, we need to be learning knowledge to get us ready for later in life. Yes creativity is important, but it is not vital for our future.
