It is however unfortunate that one can not use their intelligence from the street and put it to use in academic work. They might read magazines and focus on cars that are of this new generation, but that is because it is what they love. Reading Shakespeare or Hamlet does not interest them do to the fact that it is archaic. It is required in every school to read Shakespeare and break down every part of the book to turn it into modern english. That is what school is about though, it is about opening up one 's mind and learning new things. If one continually learns about the one thing they love forever, they might lose interest. College prepares ourselves for the future if one wants one. One who is street smart or “anti intellectual” should not focus on just one thing for the rest of their life. One should constantly be learning new things everyday. Schools do not try and purposely make certain subjects boring and make people hate it. They do this to open minds and just because one hates it, another one loves it and, vice versa. It is to give an understanding of how and why we learn these topics.
